Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) is the most common of the class of plasticizers. It is the diester of phthalic acid and the branched-chain 2-ethylhexanol. It's

a colorless, viscous liquid is soluble in oil, but not in water.

DOP has common applications in plastics, such as medical supplies, Pva and rubber manufacturing, wood coatings, and is sometimes used as a

waxing agent.

Dioctyl Phthalate (DOP) is manufactured using phthalic anhydride and 2-ethyI hexanol. DOP is generally used as a Plasticizer and serves many end
